Show makers and Show Team attended this years 131st Lincolnshire show to promote Lincolnshire scouts are on an adventure . The objective was to engage with adults and young people over the two days of the show and encourage more adults to become adult leaders of more YP to join.
With the weather perfect for people to venture out to the show over 60,000+ will come through the gates over the two days of the show.
The climbing tower was a real pull and the show makers and climbing team were kept busy all day with YP wanting to take up the tower challenge . We even managed to get one of the Red Arrow leader up the tower to the excitement of Jan.
The Show Team worked very hard before the show in the Build and it sure paid off with all the smart Show Makers on the day as the stand won the Ramsey Cup for the Best None Agricultural stand. Something that we have not even dreamed of and certainly not on our first attendance. All the team were on their best behavior when Lady Sarah McCorquodale, President of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society presented a rather nice silver cup on the Thursday morning on the stand.
The Show makers were kept very busy talking to people and completing enquiry forms for both leaders and also leaders,
We are already planning next years show on the 22nd 23rd June and have more people on the committee with some of the Young people show makers joining the board.

Adam Jacklin will be stepping down from his role as District Lead Volunteer for Sleaford District on 4 November 2025. As Adam prepares to step down as District Lead Volunteer for Sleaford this November, I would like to take the opportunity to offer my thanks for the energy, dedication, and leadership he has brought to the role. Adam has been a driving force behind many positive developments within the District, always bringing a thoughtful and steady approach to everything he does. Throughout his term, Adam has consistently put young people at the centre of our work. His collaborative style has helped build strong teams and foster a real sense of community among our volunteers. Whether supporting events, shaping strategy, or mentoring others, Adam has been generous with his time and tireless in his commitment to the values of Scouting. While Adam is stepping back from the DLV role, I know his involvement with the District and County will continue.
