Youth Shaped Scouting
Youth Shaped scouting is nothing new, its something we've been doing since 1907, and its been happening ever since!
What is Youth Shaped Scouting?
Today Youth Shaped Scouting forms a major part of our Skills for Life strategy, (Alongside inclusion, Community impact and growth). A young person who is able to shape their own experience through planning , leading and representing has a powerful skill which will take them far in life.
Youth Shaped Scouting allows young people to shape their programme, ensures the voices of young people are heard, gets young people into leadership positions and fundamentally ensures young people are at the heart of everything we do. By adopting the youth shaped approach you are giving young people the opportunity to make a difference in their group, community and wider world.
So why do we do it? It creates a better experience for Young people, builds their confidence and develops Skills for Life. Youth Shaped scouting creates our future leaders and helps to grow sections and groups.
Charity Quiz
This quiz has been designed and written by the Youth Shapers. It’s purpose is to be used as a starter/game activity in a scouting meeting with the idea being that to participate all scouts would make a small charity donation. The quiz is available
here
The suggestion is either that all scouts would bring in a tin (to be donated to a local foodbank) OR make a small donation to either Lincolnshire and Notts Air Ambulance (a county charity) or Centre Point (a charity for UK youth homelessness).
There are 3 quizzes here – for different age groups.

Caitlin is the County Youth Lead and leads the Youth Involvement team. She loves visiting events and meeting young people , If you are holding an event or have some You Shape awards to present why not ask the Youth Involvement team to visit.
