Brew it forward

As we head into another busy and exciting summer across Lincolnshire Scouts, it is fantastic to see so many young people and volunteers making the most of the opportunities that Scouting provides. With longer days and warmer weather, groups, districts and county teams are delivering an incredible range of camps, activities, events and adventures across the county and beyond. June is Volunteers’ Week, providing an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the thousands of volunteers who make Scouting possible across Lincolnshire. Whether you lead a section, support behind the scenes, help manage equipment, serve on a Trustee Board or contribute in countless other ways, thank you. The time, commitment and enthusiasm you give has a lasting impact on the lives of young people across our county. If you know someone who deserves recognition for their contribution, please consider nominating them for either Brew it Forward award or a national award through the Membership System or speak to your local Lead Volunteer for support. The past few months have seen a huge amount of activity across Lincolnshire. It has been a pleasure visiting groups, district events and activities and seeing young people learning new skills, building confidence and creating memories that will last a lifetime. I continue to be impressed by the dedication of our volunteers and the quality of Scouting being delivered across every part of the county. We have also continued to strengthen our county team and support arrangements. Congratulations to Callum who has been appointed as County Youth Lead and Rich Spence who will work with Carolyn as joint programme team lead. Looking ahead, we have an exciting summer programme with camps, international opportunities, water activities, training events and preparations for future county and national events. Planning is also continuing for LincsFest and our County AGM in September, both of which will provide opportunities to come together, celebrate success and look ahead to the future of Scouting in Lincolnshire. As always, thank you for everything you do to support young people and Scouting across our county. Your commitment, energy and enthusiasm make a real difference every day, and I am proud to serve alongside such a dedicated team of volunteers. Discover lifelong skills, explore inspiring programme ideas and embrace new challenges. Reunion is more than just a weekend of programme support. It's a chance to connect with like-minded Scouts, make new friends and reminisce with old ones. We’re excited to share that online booking for this event is now open! New skills: Digital, bushcraft, inclusion or first aid - seek a new challenge at Gilwell Reunion. Use the weekend to learn new skills that you can take home with you. Attendee registration, workshop applications, internal exhibitor requests and Fellows bookings will be open in May 2026. Please note: Each Reunion attendee will need to create their own account (no group registrations) - everyone needs their own login to be able to book workshops. If you had an account for a previous event you will just need to recreate it for this event.
