Winning this award is absolutely fantastic and is a great credit and a pack on the back, to all our volunteers who have given their time to improve scouting in Lincolnshire. It is all about more young people having the opportunity to develop their skills for life through an exciting and fun programme."
Scout Ambassador Steve Backshall said:
“This is a remarkable achievement for Lincolnshire Scouts, winning one of the first ever National Scout Awards and will be something they will remember forever. I feel honoured to be a part of this event and to hear about some of the amazing achievements in Lincolnshire and we have made as a movement. Every young person should have the chance to be involved in Scouting and although we are growing we still have a waiting list of over 275 young people eager to be a part of the fun and adventure in Lincolnshire, we just need more volunteers to make it possible. All the Scouts who were involved in the ceremony today should be tremendously proud of themselves and I am proud to be an ambassador of this adventurous movement.”
