As many of you may be aware we have recently completed the search for a new County Lead Volunteer for Lincolnshire, after an extensive and comprehensive national volunteer appointment process, I am pleased to announce that Howard Nelson has accepted the role of County Lead Volunteer for Lincolnshire Scout County effective from 24th May 2024.

For those of you who do not know Howard, he has been involved in Scouting as an adult with roles in the Scout and Explorer sections, county roles in Lincolnshire as DCC Activities and using his skills on the water within Scouting and beyond with RYA. More recently, Howard has been a Deputy Commissioner in British Scouting Overseas, looking after programme, activities and training adults. He has held a number of roles in Stamford and Bourne and is currently the District Chair. In his professional life he has held Chief Executive and Operating Officer roles in Multi-Academy Trusts and other educational institutions.

I am sure that you will all support Howard in his new role as he continues to lead the development of Lincolnshire with the county and district teams, to continue to grow and develop especially with the Transformation journey we have embarked on as a Movement sharing our ambition of supporting more young people to gain #skillsforlife.

I would also like to thank Amy for all the hard work in supporting the delivery of quality scouting in the county and the enthusiasm she has shown in the role to take Lincolnshire to where it is now.

I look forward to seeing Lincolnshire Scouting continue to flourish.
