Cubs on the Water 2016

After a staggering response from cubs across Lincolnshire with the event full up just over a month after opening it, 100 cubs had a fun day on the water at Apex pits at North Hykeham. The event was organised to mark 100 years of cub scouting and to give the opportunity for more young people to take part in adventurous activities. The cubs took part in Sailing, Canoeing, Rafting and Model Boat Making. Thanks are also due to all those who helped and to the RNLI who enthralled the cubs with a talk / videos on Respecting the Water. The cubs earned their "Time on the water badge 2" and despite the wet weather had a fantastic day.
Rachel Nelson (20) the event organiser said "I was very pleased with the response to event and very grateful for all the help I got in organising and running the event. All the cubs had a fantastic day and are already asking when the next "Cubs on the Water" day will be!"
