County Lead Volunteer Update – July 2025 As we approach the end of term, I want to take a moment to say a thank you to all our incredible volunteers for everything you have done this year. Your dedication, energy and commitment continue to make a real difference to the lives of young people across Lincolnshire. After my first year as Lead Volunteer for Lincolnshire Scouts, it goes without saying I am thankful for all your support, suggestions, feedback, encouragement and indeed your commitment to supporting our young people. I would like to take this opportunity to say Thank You. I would also like to thank our Group and particularly our District Lead Volunteers who have been battling the new systems for the last few months to keep all those behind the scenes things like Disclosures and compliance happening despite the challenges. The deadline of 14th July is fast approaching for the new safety learning to be completed. Firstly, my sincere thanks to the great many of you who have completed the learning. Those who still need to, please don’t leave it to the deadline. BE PREPARED and get it done now. If your group is camping (or you are camping) after 14th July and you’ve not got the learning complete, you won’t be able to go to camp! Those who still need to complete the learning are being emailed regularly. If you’re not sure, please ask your Group Lead Volunteer. Congratulations to everyone who was recognised in our Brew It Forward campaign. The nominations were fantastic to receive and read – it was genuinely inspiring to hear how so many of you are making such a positive impact across the county. Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate someone. I recently enjoyed visiting Louth District recently attending their district cub camp and Grasby's family camp. It as clear that great scouting is going on at both events. Pictured below the Grasby leadership team who are doing a great job. I was really pleased with the successful launch of our new International Team – it was great to see such energy and enthusiasm. If you’re interested in being part of this exciting group and helping shape international Scouting in Lincolnshire, please get in touch via international@lincolnshirescouts.org.uk . This summer, I’m particularly looking forward to visiting Kandersteg, where I’ll have the pleasure of seeing those taking part in Discover Europe, as well as Lincoln’s Sea Scouts (Bailgate) who are also visiting. It’s always brilliant to see our young people enjoying international adventures and making memories that will last a lifetime. I’m also looking forward to seeing many of you at your AGMs over the coming weeks where I’m able to attend – these are always great opportunities to reflect on the year and look ahead. And finally – bookings for LincsFest are now open! LincsFest is set to be a fantastic celebration of everything we do in Scouting across the county, and I’d encourage everyone to book their place and be part of what promises to be a memorable day. Thank you once again for all that you do – have a restful summer when it arrives, and I look forward to seeing many of you soon. Howard County Lead Volunteer

Our County International Team Leads have been busy these last few months supporting International Visits that will be going out over the summer holidays, including a Group trip to Kandersteg and Discover Europe - follow them on Facebook Discover Europe 2025 and at https://www.instagram.com/discovereurope2025/ and find out what and where their adventures are taking them. Recently they ran our first Adult Selection weekend held at Shacklewell campsite. A number of adults attended the weekend where the team was joined by other adults from across the County to form and select teams to take forward the Lincolnshire’s International programme vision for the next couple of years. A part of the weekend the selection was also for the World Scout Jamboree in 2027 in Poland. Lincolnshire will be taking a full Unit to this so 4 adults needed to be selected to run this. Details about our international trips will be coming out as soon as the new teams have got together and have more of their plans confirmed. A huge thank you to Fenland Adventure and Matt Knifton for running our team building sessions over the weekend. After a very hot and full weekend they have now put together the start of a rolling programme of international opportunities for our Young People across the County. Not forgetting the adults too. Plus, the opportunity for everyone to get involved in the soon to be launched County International Challenge Award. The Young Person Selection event for World Scout Jamboree will be run in October and further details about this will be coming out very soon so that you can encourage them to apply. Please say hello and a huge congratulations to all our County International Trip Teams including our World Scout Jamboree Leadership Team.
