Cubs on the Water 2024

Cubs on the Water is a full-on day of water based activities for Cubs. Throughout the course of the day, the Cubs will be able to take part in a multitude of different activities; such as Canoeing and Sailing. Cubs on the Water allows the Cubs to gain their time on the water badge and get to meet other cubs from all around the County! This year you will get the choice of one of two dates, a Saturday or a Sunday.



Your pack is invited to join us for a day of water based activities on Hykeham Lakes, Lincoln. Planned activities include Sailing, Canoeing, Paddling, Bell Boating and an onshore craft activity as well as some water themed activities on land. Cubs on the water(C.O.W) will be held over at Hykeham Scouts Water Centre. Cubs can only attend 1 day session over the weekend as part of a pack. Any Cub may attend as part of their pack alongside their Leader. There will be no individual bookings from Cubs taken. Cubs Packs are welcome to bring Young Leaders to help them, however, there will be no activities provided for them. Cubs can not attend independently.


All participants will need to bring lunch. Each session is limited to 50 participants so please ensure you get your booking in early! Participants will need to bring a packed lunch and a couple of changes of dry clothing, just in case. Further information will be sent to leaders one booked in.

Leaders do not need to pay. When purchasing tickets please ensure you put your group number and district in the box which asks for a name, this way we know which groups have booked onto the event.

Awards Ceremony We held our annual Adult Awards Evening at Burghley House, celebrating the achievements and dedication of volunteers across Lincolnshire over the past year. During the evening, we recognised a range of prestigious awards, including the King’s Scout Award, Explorer Belt, Silver Acorn, and the Silver Wolf. These awards are among the highest honours in Scouting and recognise outstanding service, commitment, and the positive impact volunteers make for young people.

Young Leader Training Weekend – Book Now! Are you a Scout Young Leader or Explorer Scout looking to develop your leadership skills? Join us for a fantastic Young Leader Training Weekend at 7th Grantham Scout HQ from 5–7 June . This weekend will give you the chance to complete Young Leader training modules (A–J) , build confidence, and gain practical skills to support younger sections in Scouting. The Young Leaders’ Scheme helps Explorers aged 14–18 develop leadership skills while volunteering alongside adult leaders in Beavers, Cubs or Scouts.
