Course structure

This is an intensive course which is a mixture of continual assessment and instruction. After introductions and a discussion of course outcomes we will look at various aspects of instructional techniques. The course is water based and we will soon on the water giving you a chance to use the boats that we will be using and start practicing instructing each other. Over the remainder of the course potential Instructors instruct sessions both on and off the water with regular debriefs where it is ensured that you are getting the key teaching points across on each session. You should note that during the course you will be expected to deliver lessons based upon Level 2, Seamanship and Youth Sailing Courses.

On the final day we will be joined by the Course Moderator (another Coach) to assess the work of the Course Coach but also adds real value to the course by providing an alternative perspective on the scheme.
